In Uganda, recycled plastic waste is transformed into various useful products across multiple sectors. In construction, it is used to make plastic lumber, paving blocks, roofing tiles, and bricks. Household goods like storage containers, kitchenware, and furniture are also produced, while the textile industry turns plastic into clothing, bags, and blankets. Recycled plastics are repurposed for packaging materials, agricultural products like irrigation pipes and mulch films, and industrial items such as pallets and automotive parts. Additionally, they are used in art and crafts, energy production through plastic-to-fuel technologies, and educational tools to promote environmental awareness. These innovations help reduce plastic pollution while supporting sustainability and economic growth.
