World Environment Day 2025: Waste Plastics Cleanup Initiative

On June 5th, 2025, in honor of World Environment Day, we are excited to launch a significant initiative aimed at tackling plastic waste in Mbale District. In partnership with DELIGHT Foundation Africa, we will conduct a massive waste plastics cleanup across various densely populated areas of the district. This event is designed not only to reduce waste but also to inspire lasting change in the way we manage and dispose of plastic materials.

What Will Happen?

This cleanup initiative will take place in key areas of Mbale District, with a focus on high-density neighborhoods where plastic waste is most prevalent. Our volunteers, in collaboration with local residents, will work together to collect and properly dispose of plastic waste from streets, markets, and public spaces.

Why this is Important?

Plastic pollution is a global issue, and Mbale District is no exception. Plastics are harmful to both the environment and wildlife, and they contribute to pollution in our communities. By organizing this cleanup, we aim to make an immediate impact by removing large amounts of waste from public spaces while raising awareness of the dangers of plastic pollution.
